MI-RYUNG BAN
ARTIST NOTE
The overlapping images on the canvas visually represent the meeting of time and space. Here, time and space refer to a world before experience — that is, past or future time, and the space of the virtual world and the real world. The arch-shaped passage depicted as part of a wall serves as a gateway, representing a space where these aspects of time and space intersect. Through this space, one encounters an imagined world created by the inner self. By engaging with the self that exists in the world beyond through this meeting space, one might find a small measure of solace in a life filled with unknowns within the mysteries of time.
