DONG SEOK KIM

ARTIST NOTE

One day, just before dawn, I visited a pine forest surrounding Namsan Mountain in Gyeongju, shrouded in a thick morning mist. In that mystical moment, the pine trees appeared "blue" to me. I was captivated by this "blue" and felt deeply drawn to it. Inspired by this experience, I envisioned myself as if I were a king strolling through a royal garden, surrounded by majestic, blue-hued pines. I have sought to recreate that sensation in my work, naming it "The King's Garden."
