This series explores moments where the face is erased, the gaze disappears, and the body exists solely as a gesture. It is a visual record of an era in which the individual is no longer themselves but is forced to exist through imposed identities and molds.
The figures remain silent, do not look, are unrecognizable—because roles speak, pose, and are defined. Time no longer carries memory; it is merely the flow of recurring scenes. What is visible is often fake; what is hidden is repressed.
Faceless Times depicts not a fading of the individual, but a sharpening of the role. This series is a visual diary of a time when people gradually become faint shadows of themselves, their faces replaced by roles. In the digital age, the individual loses their reality under the weight of social networks, societal expectations, and the pressure to be seen.

Nail Karahan is an artist whose work explores the realms of abstraction and figuration.
